When exporting books to BloomPUB, Bloom has a wonderful feature to select the resolution of the images in your book. But image resolution in jpg files only controls the image size to a certain extend. The jpg quality effects it just as much.
In the image below, you can see that images with the same pixel dimensions can have very different file sizes based on the amount of jpeg compression.
By setting a jpg quality to 85%, BloomPUB sizes could be brought down by 75% without anyone noticing.
