We would like to make the following requests as additions to the Jarai (jra-Khmr-KH) keyboard.
The following are needed because Jarai uses quotation marks for embedded quotations (outermost quotations are guillemets, which the keyboard already has, but the keyboard lacks the quotation marks used for embedded quotations):
- U+2018 (‘) at " RALT ] " key
- U+2019 (’) at " SHFT ] " key
- U+201C (“) at " RALT \ " key
- U+201D (”) at " SHFT \ " key
The following Khmer characters would be in the same spot as Keyman’s NIDA-based Khmer keyboard:
- U+17B2 (ឲ) at " = " key
- U+17D0 (័) at " SHFT 7 " key
- U+17CF (៏) at " SHFT 8 " key
- U+17AC (ឬ) at " SHFT r " key
- U+17AF (ឯ) at " RALT e " key
- U+17AB (ឫ) at " RALT r " key
- U+17CE (៎) at " RALT = " key
I’m requesting these relatively common Khmer characters because sometimes we use the Jarai keyboard in a multi-lingual document, and it’s nice to have the most common Khmer characters available, even though they aren’t used in Jarai words.
